The recent draw for Express Entry was held on September 2, which is the second-largest Express Entry draw of all time. In this draw, the government of Canada issued 4200 candidates to apply for permanent residence.

Federal Skilled Worker Program applicants were among today's fruitful competitors. The base Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in this most recent invitation round was 475, a decline of 1 point over the past all-program draw held August 5.

Conducting such a huge draw expresses to an announcement of expectation by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), that its policy of expanding immigration levels will proceed into 2021, notwithstanding the COVID-19 crisis.

The 4,200 ITA's for permanent residence is the most issued in an Express Entry round since 4,500 were given preceding the COVID pandemic during February 19, 2020, invitation round. The huge number of invitations issued today is a solid sign that Canada stays focused on inviting elevated levels of immigration in 2021.

This is the 29th draw of 2020, which brings the total number of ITAs issued this year to 69,950 a new record for this date.
