Ontario issues 484 Express Entry invitations in first draw of 2021
Ontario issued 484 invitations to Express Entry candidates on January 13th. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates in the Skilled Trades and French-Speaking Skilled Worker streams. These two streams were a part of the Express Entry system. Candidates given an NOI had to have created Express Entry profiles between January 13, 2020 and January 13, 2021.
A total of 338 Skilled Trades candidates received NOIs in the recent draw, these individuals had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 434 and 460. The OINP can search the Express Entry pool for Skilled Trades candidates living in Ontario. The candidates must have a minimum of one-year full-time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work in the designated National Occupational Classification (NOC) groups.
Just 146 French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) candidates received NOIs had a CRS score between 456 and 460. FSSW candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Individuals who qualify in this stream must speak French and English. Candidates need a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least seven (7) in French, and at least six (6) in English, among other requirements.
Candidates in either the Skilled Trades or FSSW streams do not need a job offer to apply, but they must meet all mandatory federal and provincial requirements set by the OINP. All candidates who received a NOI will be contacted by the OINP and will need to submit a complete application for a provincial nomination within 45 days of receiving the NOI.
