Saskatchewan holds new PNP draw inviting 496 immigration candidates

Saskatchewan issued 496 invitations to immigration candidates in a new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw held on August 19.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited the candidates through two (2) programs: Express Entry sub-category and Occupations In-Demand sub-category.

The SINP issued 161 invitations to Express Entry candidates with a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 71.

The remaining 335 invites were issued to Occupations In-Demand candidates with minimum EOI scores of 70.

All invited candidates need an Educational Credential Assessment to show that their foreign education is comparable to the Canadian standard.

In this draw there were 42 eligible occupations for Express Entry candidates and 61 occupations for Occupations In-Demand candidates. Refer to the list at the end of the post to see what occupations were included in this draw.

The Express Entry sub-category is an enhanced PNP which means it is linked to the federal system. In addition to creating an Express Entry profile, candidates interested in receiving a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan must create an EOI profile with the province.

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is a base PNP, meaning it is open to candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile. The category is for skilled workers with experience in an occupation that is in demand in the province and who do not yet have a job offer. Interested candidates must create an EOI profile with the SINP.

The SINP’s EOI system allows the province to select immigration candidates who have the potential to thrive and succeed in Saskatchewan. Some of the things that candidates are assessed and given a score are their work experience, education, age, language ability, and connections to the province
