British Columbia holds new PNP Tech draw issuing 74 invitations

British Columbia (B.C.) issued 74 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on August 24.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (B.C. PNP) issued the invitations through the B.C. PNP Tech. All candidates must meet the requirements of either the Express Entry B.C. (EEBC) or Skills Immigration (SI) categories of the B.C. PNP.

Candidates who received invitations were from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-categories of the SI and EEBC. In order to receive an invitation, candidates needed a minimum provincial score of 80, regardless of the sub-category they were from.

Candidates now have 30 calendar days to apply for the nomination.

So far in 2021, British Columbia has issued 7,601 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

The B.C. PNP Tech is a permanent program for employers in the technology sector to have access to talent. The goal of the program is to allow technology employers in the province to attract and select international talent when qualified skilled workers are not available locally.

Individuals interested in benefiting from a provincial nomination through this program must register an account through the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS). SIRS is the applicant tracking system that the B.C. PNP uses.

Candidates must also have a valid job offer of at least twelve (12) months in the province. The job offer must be for a job in one of the 29 eligible occupations listed by the B.C. PNP. The job offer must have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the program. The job must be full-time work and from an eligible employer in B.C.

The B.C. PNP Tech issues invitations to candidates on a weekly basis to top-scoring candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.
