Alberta holds second PNP draw of the year inviting 100 Express Entry Candidates
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issued 100 invitations to Express Entry candidates on January 28, 2021. Candidates who received invitations needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 360.
Invited candidates can now apply for a provincial nomination under the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Candidates who apply through the Express Entry AINP stream, automatically receive 600 CRS points added to their score.
Candidates eligible for the AINP stream must have work experience in an eligible occupation that fills a need in Alberta’s labour market. Candidates in the Express Entry system have the opportunity to receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination in participating provinces/territories. If you are interested in this program, check out the AINP website to learn more on the occupations that are being considered.
On November 1, 2020, the federal government increased the number of occupations that are not eligible to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) in Alberta. However, candidates who received a Notification on Interest (NOI) on or after November 1, 2020 can be selected through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, even if they are working in an occupation that the federal government will not process LMIAs for.
