Saskatchewan PNP invites 299 Express Entry candidates in recent draw
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited 299 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in a new draw held on February 25.
The SINP invited candidates from the International Skilled Worker category. Only candidates who were eligible for the Express Entry subcategory in the SINP were invited in this draw.
Candidates needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 70 to be invited. Candidates also needed work experience in one of the 70 in-demand occupations listed on the Saskatchewan government website. Some of the eligible occupations are retail and wholesale buyers, medical administrative assistants, and geological engineers.
The SINP uses the EOI system to select candidates that have the most potential to succeed in the Saskatchewan labour market. Candidates who are interested in the SINP need to demonstrate their commitment to settling in the province by showing their work experience education, language ability, age, and connections to Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan gives candidates a score out of 100 according to the International Skilled Worker Points Assessments Grid. The highest-scoring candidates are then issued invitations to apply (ITAs) for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan.
Since November 2020, Saskatchewan started giving more EOI points to candidates who can speak both English and French.
In this draw, Saskatchewan only sent invitations to candidates who had profiles in the federal Express Entry pool. If candidates in the federal Express Entry pool also filled out an EOI for Saskatchewan, and scored at least 70 on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid, they may have received an invitation to apply.
