The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited 159 Express Entry candidates to apply for the Alberta Express Entry stream on February 16.

Candidates only needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 352.

Invited candidates can now apply for a provincial nomination thus bumping them up to the top of the Express Entry pool in Alberta. These Express Entry candidates are now one step closer to permanent residence in Alberta.

All candidates invited in this Alberta’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw had a profile in the Express Entry system.

The Alberta Express Entry stream is an enhanced PNP for Express Entry candidates who have strong ties to Alberta, or who can support the government’s economic development and diversification priorities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alberta is only accepting candidates who are currently living and working in the province.

Candidates need to have work experience in an eligible occupation, the AINP only provides a list of occupations that they will not consider, so any other occupation may be considered.

Individuals who receive a provincial nomination through an Express Entry stream, automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points added to their score. This means that the lowest-scoring candidates in this draw would get a new score of 952.
