Saskatchewan PNP targeted 269 Occupations In-Demand candidates in new draw

Saskatchewan issued 269 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on May 25.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited candidates from the International Skilled Worker category. This draw focused on the Occupations In-Demand sub-category specifically.

Invited candidates needed to have a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 65. Candidates also needed Educational Credential Assessments to demonstrate their foreign education was comparable to the Canadian standard. In addition, candidates needed work experience in one of the thirty-six (36) in-demand occupations listed on the government website.

The EOI score is only five (5) points lower than the score needed in the previous selection round.

The EOI is a pre-application process that allows immigration candidates to complete a form identifying their interest in applying to immigrate to Saskatchewan.

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is a base Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), this means that it is open to immigration candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile.

This sub-category is for highly skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan, and who do not yet have a job offer in the province.

To apply for this stream, candidates must create an EOI profile through the SINP’s online application system. The province can then score immigration candidates on whether they may thrive in the province. Candidates are assessed on their work experience, education, language ability, age, connections to the province, and more.

Candidates are ranked out of 100, based on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The highest scoring candidates are then issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
