Ontario PNP invites 940 candidates from two Employer Job Offer streams
Ontario issued 940 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for a provincial nomination on June 16.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited candidates who had profiles in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool. Those who received ITAs were from two Employer Job Offer streams: International Students and Foreign Worker Stream.
Of the 940 ITAs, 569 were issued to candidates who may be eligible for the Foreign Worker Stream. These candidates needed a minimum EOI score of 38 in order to receive an invitation. There was no location requirement or targeted occupations for this draw.
The remaining 371 ITAs were issued to International Student Stream candidates to apply for a nomination. These candidates were required to meet the minimum EOI score of 66 in order to be invited.
The Ontario Foreign Worker Stream is for foreign nationals who have an eligible job offer from an employer in the province. Candidates do not have to be in Canada at the time of their application, as long as they meet all eligibility requirements.
To be eligible for the Foreign Worker Stream, candidates need two years of work experience in a skilled occupation, have a valid job offer in Ontario, intend to immigrate to the province, among other criteria.
The Ontario International Student Stream is for foreign nationals who have an eligible job offer from an employer in Ontario. Candidates do not need to be in Canada when they apply, so long as they meet other eligibility requirements.
To be eligible, candidates need to have completed a program at a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI), have an eligible job offer in the province, intend to immigrate to Ontario, among other criteria.
For both of these Employer Job Offer streams of Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), candidates must register an EOI profile on the Ontario website.
