Prince Edward Island invites 113 PNP candidates in new EOI draw
Prince Edward Island (PEI) released details on their PNP draw results from June 17. The draw was held through the province’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system.
PEI invited 113 immigration candidates through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Majority of the invitations, 101, were issued to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining 12 invitations were issued to Business Impact candidates with a minimum point threshold of 60.
So far in 2021, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has invites 905 immigration candidates through six draws. 816 of the invitations were from the Express Entry and Labour Impact streams while 89 were from the Business Impact stream.
The PEI PNP Express Entry stream is an enhanced PNP, this means that is it linked to the federal government’s Express Entry system. Eligible candidates are given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on various human capital factors. Those Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination automatically receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score.
Candidates interested in immigrating to Canada through PEI’s Express Entry stream must first create an online EOI profile with the PEI PNP.
The Labour Impact stream is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer in PEI and have support from their employer. There are three streams within this category: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate.
Interested candidates must submit an EOI profile with the PEI PNP to be considered for a provincial nomination.
The Business Impact stream requires candidates to meet the minimum provincial score to proceed with their application. The score changes every draw to ensure new candidates get a chance. This draw issued invitations under the Work Permit stream. The Work Permit stream is for foreign entrepreneurs who want to own and operate a business in PEI.
