Alberta PNP issues 184 NOIs to Express Entry candidates in recent draw
Alberta invited 184 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on June 16.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited candidates who may be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry stream.
Candidates were required to have a profile in the Express Entry system in order to receive a Notification of Interest (NOI). In this draw, candidates needed to meet the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score of 300.
The CRS score in this draw is the same minimum score requirement from the previous draw held on June 5.
So far in 2021, AINP has issued 2,284 NOIs to Express Entry candidates since the province resumed invitation rounds in January after a temporary COVID-related hiatus.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alberta has only been issuing invitations to candidates who are already in the province. However, in a recent statement, it was told that the AINP has now removed the temporary criteria adjustments. The Alberta Express Entry Stream is now open to all candidates.
Candidates already living and working in Alberta are not the only ones who can receive invitations. Candidates may be selected and nominated if they have a valid job offer in the province or have experience in an occupation that Alberta has stated will contribute to the economic development and diversification of the province.
The AINP is only allowed to issue 6,250 nomination certificates in 2021. However, the province is not required to issue its share of nominations for the year.
Not everyone who received a NOI will receive a provincial nomination, just as not everyone who receives a nomination will be given permanent residence. Candidates should ensure that their submitted applications are complete and meet the eligibility criteria.
