Quebec issued 69 ITAs to skilled workers in new Arrima draw
Quebec invited 69 immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection on June 17.
The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) issued the invitations through Quebec’s online registration portal, Arrima. Invited candidates were from the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) and had filed an Expression of Interest (EOI) in Arrima.
An EOI is a way for candidates to notify MIFI that they would be to be considered for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). When a candidates received a CSQ, they may apply for permanent residence with the federal government.
Candidates in this draw were required to have a validated job offer in the province.
Quebec has now held five draws in 2021, inviting 545 candidates to apply for permanent selection. The draws have been held monthly issuing invitations.
Quebec’s immigration programs are different from Canada’s immigration programs as they are managed by the province based on their own selection criteria and processes. However, it is ultimately up to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to make the final decision on immigration applications.
Those who are interested in immigrating to Quebec through the RSWP must be over the age of eighteen (18). The first step is to create an EOI profile in Arrima, this will then place the candidate in the pool. MIFI will invite the most qualified candidates based on many criteria. Some of the criteria include the current provincial labour market needs and the individual’s potential to integrate into Quebec society.
Generally, those who receive invitations to apply for permanent selection have sixty (60) days to submit a complete immigration application, pay the required fees, and present all required documents.
Quebec has set an ambitious target to welcome up to 47,500 newcomers in 2021.
