B.C. invites 52 skilled workers and international graduates in new B.C. PNP Tech draw
British Columbia (B.C.) held a new B.C. PNP Tech draw and invited 52 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on June 29.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (B.C. PNP) invited candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry B.C. (EEBC) streams. Further, candidates were from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate sub-categories of the SI and EEBC.
Selected candidates were required to meet the minimum provincial score of 80 in order to receive an invitation.
Invited candidates now have 30 calendar days to apply for the nomination through the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
So far in 2021, B.C. has issued 5,782 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) streams.
The B.C. PNP Tech Pilot was recently renamed the B.C. PNP Tech and made into a permanent immigration stream for B.C. The program was initially launched in 2017 aimed specifically at technology workers. The program has grown and has a list of 29 target occupations which are aimed to fulfill the labour market needs.
Invitations through the B.C. PNP Tech are sent out weekly to the top-scoring candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.
To be eligible for the B.C PNP Tech, candidates must have a valid job offer in one of the 29 targeted occupations. The job offer must be for at least one-year of employment and have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application.
