The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) released the details from their immigration draw held on July 27.

The AINP invited 148 Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of at least 300.

Those who received a Notification of Interest (NOI) letter from this draw may now apply for a provincial nomination through the Alberta Express Entry stream.

Alberta has now issued 2,761 NOI letters to immigration candidates in 2021 to apply for a provincial nomination. In 2021, the AINP is allowed to issue 6,250 nomination certificates.

The Alberta Express Entry stream allows the province to search the federal Express Entry pool of candidates for profiles who may be eligible for a provincial nomination by AINP.

To be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry stream, candidates must have work experience in an eligible occupation. The AINP does not provide a list of eligible occupations, instead it provides a list of occupations that are ineligible for the stream.

Candidates must have a profile in the federal Express Entry system and should indicate on their profile they are interested in moving to and settling in Alberta.

To increase the chance of receiving a nomination candidates should have work experience in the province, or a valid job offer in Alberta. In addition to a job, post-secondary education in Canada also helps an application. It can also help if someone has a permanent resident or citizen family member in Alberta.

The purpose of the AINP is to support Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities.
