Ontario PNP announces new way for Masters and PhD graduates to apply
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has expanded their new Expression of Interest (EOI) system for Masters and PhD international graduates.
The OINP has added the final two streams to the province’s EOI system, Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams. There are three other streams that Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) EOI system includes: In-Demand Skills, International Student, and Foreign Worker.
This new stream will allow Ontario graduates with job offers in the province to register for a chance to receive a provincial nomination.
Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate candidates can now register for Ontario immigration at any time. Once candidates are in the EOI system, Ontario will rank profiles based on a scoring matrix. Some of the factors in which candidates are ranked on are education, work experience, and intended destination in Ontario. The purpose of this ranking is to identify candidates who have the skills and experience to succeed in Ontario’s labour market.
It is important to note that registering for the EOI system does not guarantee a provincial nomination. The OINP will contact applicants at any time to apply for a nomination. Profiles are valid in Ontario’s EOI pool for a total of twelve (12) months or until you receive an invitation. If requested, candidates may choose to withdraw their registration at any time. After the twelve (12) months are up, the profile with be automatically deleted.
It is free to register an EOI profile, but upon receiving an invitation there will be required feed along with the application.
To ensure a provincial nomination, ensure to meet all the eligibility requirements of the stream in which your application is for. Receiving an invitation does not mean someone will get a provincial nomination.
