Manitoba invited 275 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on August 12.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited candidates through the Expression of Interest (EOI) system. The MPNP invited candidates from the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, Skilled Workers Overseas stream, and the International Education Stream. See below for a breakdown of the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) and the minimum EOI scores for each stream.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 238 LAAs with a minimum EOI score of 454.

Skilled Workers Overseas: 6 LAAs with a minimum EOI score of 719.

International Education Stream: 31 LAAs with no EOI score requirement.

Of the 275 LAAs, 36 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates.

Manitoba has now issued 6,789 LAAs to immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in 2021.

Those interested in benefiting from a nomination from Manitoba need to register an Expression of Interest with the MPNP. This allows candidates to receive an LAA through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams.

Manitoba then ranks candidates out of 1,000 points based on human capital factors as well as connections to the province.

Candidates overseas need to show connections to Manitoba through close family ties, previous experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the province’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

Both skilled workers streams are designed to allow Manitoba to identify candidates who meet their labour market needs.

Candidates do not need to be living in Manitoba at the time of their application to be eligible for a provincial nomination.

International graduates who complete post-secondary education in Manitoba can receive an invitation under the International Education Stream, so long as they demonstrate they have in-demand skills.
