Prince Edward Island (PEI) invited a total of 161 immigration candidates in its regular monthly Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on August 19.

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued 152 of the invitations to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining 9 invitations were issued to Business Impact candidates with a provincial score of at least 72 points.

All Business Impact candidates from this draw were invited under the Work Permit Stream. This stream is for entrepreneurs who wish to own and operate a business in PEI.

So far in 2021, PEI has issued 1,194 invitations through its Expression of Interest (EOI) system. The next PEI PNP draw is scheduled for September 16, 2021.

The PEI PNP Express Entry category is an enhanced PNP, this means that it is linked with the federal Express Entry system. Those who receive provincial nominations from this category automatically receive 600 additional points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Candidates interested in benefiting from a provincial nomination from PEI through this category must create a federal Express Entry profile as well as an Expression of Interest profile with the PEI PNP.

The Labour Impact category is for foreign nationals with a valid job offer in the province and have support from their employer. Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest to be considered for a provincial nomination from the PEI PNP.

The Business Impact category is for foreign nationals interested in working or starting a business in the province. All candidates must meet the minimum provincial score requirement for a draw to proceed with their application.
